There are a lot of exciting things happening at Charm City, I can't believe how God is placing amazing people in my life and how he continues to cross my path with amazing people...today I am meeting with Ms. Carter, she could very well be an HUGE answer to prayer as she's said she'd be willing to mentor and help a VERY special woman in my life. This woman begs for help every week, she's very sick, very pregnant and very much an addict. Ms. Carter works with addicts, woman who are H.I.V. positive and women who are lost, she's willing and able and an answer to a prayer I've been praying for my friend for a while. I am so excited about Ms. Carter and pray that my friend will be open to meeting her and attempting to get help.
Other exciting news, construction is going to happen this weekend for the Food Bank that'll be up and running at Charm City sometime in the very near future. The food bank is going to be opened with the help of World Class Cities Ministries (http://www.wccm.net/) and will be a part of their Can Thrive program. God has blessed us with contractors who are willing to donate their time and materials to help get us up and running, however there is still a need for three more people who would be willing to help with this project. These people would need to be willing to begin working at 7:30 a.m. this Saturday February 2nd and work through the late morning or early afternoon. Workers will help haul materials and trash in and out of the building. February 20th Love night for Metro Kidz, we need people to help serve dinner that evening as well as help provide the meal, it's going to be a special night of serving our kids and showing them love, that they don't get on a regular basis.
March 5th From Junk to Jesus, Guest Speaker Mike Weber shares his testimony from Junk to Jesus with our Charm City community, we're going to have a cookie reception after his talk, so we need people who would be willing to provide cookies, help serve them and others who just might want to join us for an amazing guest speaker. Also needed that evening is someone to lead praise and worship for a few minutes at the beginning and possibly at the end.
March 8th Adopt-A-Block kickoff, we're going to take back the block surrounding the church. We'll meet at the church at 10:15 for prayer and briefing and then the event will be from 10:30-2 p.m. This is a good opportunity for families, small groups and individuals.
